Buddy Program with Riverside
It started 5 years ago with an idea and since then there has been no looking back. We have done a number of things together. Camps at Jambughoda and Zainabad, street plays to try and change people’s attitudes and use of glass coated manjas at Uttarayan, sale of Diwali diyas, public dance performance with the Spin Academy, chocolate making and selling to raise funds Art Auctions to raise money for hearing aids, and many other seemingly small things which are not really that small in the ultimate. What did we hope to achieve? A chance to interact, meet and make friends with hearing children; a chance for deaf children to develop a confidence, that they so lack, that would empower them to say “I too Can” and to forge their own destinies.
